There are 2 ways to access the Friend's Event Booking system:

  1. From the Friend's Website Friends of Regent's Park and Primrose Hill
  2. By typing https://www.frp-ph-members.org/pages/events in to your browser search bar. (If you save this as a favourite you'll only have to type in once.)

This article presumes that you are using the first way but it will show you where you will join the process if you choose the second.

Step 1:   Click on the "Events" button.

Shows the button on the Events page for "Book an Event"

The next screen to appear will be this one.

Step 2:  Click on the "Book an Event" button.

Page showing list of events, filterable by using the Categories

This is where you will join the process if you choose the https://www.frp-ph-members.org/pages/events route.

Some notes on what you can see on this page:

Categories:  At first you are presented with a full list of all future events but note the word "Categories" ringed in red on the left hand side of the page.   If you are interested in only a particular type of event, say "Walks", click on that word and the list of events will be filtered to show you only the walks.

The Events:  On the right hand side of the image, ringed in blue, you can see 4 test events listed.   Below the title of the event you will see a short description of the event, and below that you will see the date and start time.

Step 3:  Click on the title of the event you want to book to be taken to the event booking page.

There are three conditions that you must fulfill to be able to book an event.

  1. You must be a member of the Friends.
  2. You must have a user account on the membership system.
  3. You must be logged in.

If you have not met anyone of these criteria you will see the screen below, from where you can fix the problem and then carry on with your booking.

Click on the grey button if you need to join the Friends.   Clink on one of the green hyperlinks if you need to create a user account or just log in.

Test Walk booking page

The first thing to note about this booking sheet is that there are two types of tickets; those for Friends and those for Friends' Guests.   Because this is not a real event, Friends and Guest tickets are free.  That is not the case for real events.  Guest tickets are a minimum of £20 more than Friends tickets. Please don't embarrass everyone by buying Friends tickets for Guests.

In this example there are no Guest tickets remaining - so they are "unavailable".
Enter the number of Friends tickets that you wish to purchase in the box ringed in red.   If you cannot buy all that you want it could be for one of two reasons.  1) that there are insufficient tickets remaining or 2) that a limit has been placed on the number of tickets each Friend can purchase.

If you see that there are Guest tickets available but not Friends tickets, please send an email to [email protected] pointing this out, and the Guest tickets will be changed to Friends tickets.

Step 4:  Click on “Book Now".

Booker's contact details

This screen simply confirms your name and email address, as the booker of the tickets.

Attendee detail image

In the previous screens we booked only 1 ticket for the Test walk, but this screen shows what you would see if you had chosen to book two Friends’ tickets.

The system presumes that the first ticket is for yourself, but it does not have to be.   If it is for yourself then the system will take your contact details from your membership record.   If it is for someone else it will ask you for those details.

In this example it is optional to provide the other Friends’ email address.   That is not always the case.   In some circumstances it will be mandatory.

Payment Page

When there is a charge for an event you will be taken to a Stripe payment screen to make a card payment.  We do not hold or process the card details at all.  It is all done by Stripe.

Confirmation Screen

The last step is for the system to confirm that your booking has been successful.

Extract of confirmation email

You  will also receive a confirmation email.
